Introduction
Surf Media is a multi million pound industry providing amazing images to brands, magazines and companies all over the world.
Ground Swell cic run a number of surf photography courses each year in Newquay, Cornwall. The courses are aimed at students interested in surfing and/or photography. Some may wish to become a surf photograhper, others may simply wish to expand their personal portfolio.
You will learn all the basics about surf and in-water photography and how to use a professional digital camera (supplied if required), how to adapt your photography to surfing, be able to take surfing photos on some of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall.
You will also have the chance to take photos in the water using a professional water housing. We have the latest iMacs and software for you to edit and publish your surf photos.
Ben Jones
Our head trainer on these courses is professional photographer Ben Jones. Ben Jones has been a photographer for five years since first getting inspired by at the age 15 by the diverse and creative medium that is photography. From the first 35mm film to exploration of medium format camera to the digital SLR of today.
A wide range of photography has been covered by this young up and coming photographer. From portraits, to lifestyle, weddings, catwalk, and Surfing.
Ben has gained a wide and diverse portfolio, including published work in Carve, Pit Pilot, A1surf.com, The Australian times, Craig Chapman hair salon, The Newquay Guardian, The Cornish Guardian, st Moritz Hotel, Quiksilver, Ignite hats, Freak Body boarding, and many more. We aim to provide the highest quality images and service, at all times.
